U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce(TM) launches innovative online education resource
July 29, 2005 -

USWCC University of Learning(TM)  opens classroom doors to knowledge, leadership, opportunity and advancement

[July 28, 2005 - Washington, D.C.] The U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce today opens the doors to an innovative online education resource for professionals, business owners and students - the USWCC University of Learning - designed to help women grow their business acumen, leadership opportunities and economic rewards. The USWCC University of Learning offers no- or low-cost virtual classroom learning; an easy-to-use registration process for classes and meetings; and access to archive articles, white papers, message boards, meetings, and discussions.

"Business owners and career professionals have schedules that often don't allow them to enroll in traditional and even non-traditional educational programs," says Margot Dorfman, U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce CEO. "Family, business, job, and personal commitments keep us from pursuing or finishing a degree - or enrolling in a class that will help us expand our business skills - or even meeting up with a group of contemporaries who share our interests, needs and aspirations.

"Our new 'campus' - because it's as close and accessible as a personal computer - enables us to bring advanced knowledge, leadership and economic development opportunities to women everywhere," Dorfman adds.

The USWCC University of Learning is organized into five schools of emphasis. Registered learners may focus on classes, meetings and resources within one school - or overlap and intertwine their learning. The five schools include: School of Business Growth; School of Government Contracting; School of Politics and Policy; School of Career & Leadership; and School of Financial Leadership. Since its inception in 2001, the USWCC has organized member programs, summits, initiatives and advocacy matched to these five broad categories of member interest.

"Women may be the fastest growing and savviest segment of internet users today," notes Terry Williams, USWCC president, "and we're confident the USWCC University of Learning will become the place to interact with other successful business owners, launch a campaign for public office, or secure financial independence.

"Classrooms are open when you're available," Williams adds.
