Access Health: A women's Issue Guest Alina Salganicoff, PhD, Kaiser Family Foundation - Postponed

 Whether you are a business owner, career professional, stay at home mom or retired, you are being dramatically impacted by the lack of affordable health care. Learn how Access to Health: An American Values Initiative is really a women's issue. The statistics show that women are far more impacted than men when it comes to finding and affording health care for ourselves and our families. Alina Salganicoff, PhD of Kaiser Family Foundation provides us with an update of the most current statistics and the challenges that women face today. We will follow with a discussion on issues of key importance to you and how the USWCC can best support your interests.

Alina Salganicoff, PhD,
Vice President and Women's Health Policy and California Health Policy Director, Kaiser Family Foundation
Alina Salganicoff is Vice President and Director of Women's Health Policy for the Kaiser Family Foundation. Her work focuses on health coverage and access to care for women, with an emphasis on challenges facing underserved populations, including low-income and uninsured women and women of color. She also directs the Foundation's KaiserEDU.org project, an online resource for students and faculty in health policy.

Before directing the Foundation's work in women's health policy, Dr. Salganicoff worked on the staff of the Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured. Dr. Salganicoff has written numerous book chapters, journal articles, and reports on health care access and financing for low-income women and children. She has also worked as a Research Associate at Johns Hopkins University, on the health program staff of the Pew Charitable Trusts, and as a trainer and counselor for CHOICE, a Philadelphia-based, reproductive health care advocacy organization.

Dr. Salganicoff completed her undergraduate degree at Pennsylvania State University and holds a Ph.D. in Health Policy from The Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health.

First: Register to attend the meeting.  

Second: USWCC member support sends you details for the meeting which include how you dial in for the telephone conference call and the Internet (in our virtual meeting room).  

Third: At the time of the meeting, you dial in to the conference call and login to the online meeting room. You may choose to attend via telephone conference call only - or teleconference and online as we often share Powerpoint presentations and web sites.
