U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce™ announces membership affiliation with NJAWBO
Thursday, September 16, 2004 -

Preeminent national women’s chamber extending member benefits, advocacy to NJAWBO entrepreneurs

[Washington, D.C.] The U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce™ is pleased to welcome the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners as an Association member, and extend member benefits to 1,000 NJAWBO members.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to partner with NJAWBO leaders and members across New Jersey,” says Margot Dorfman, CEO of the USWCC. “As we continue to grow the USWCC, work to provide greater economic development opportunities for women, and bring about real change on the key issues affecting women in business, we recognize the old adage: ‘There’s strength in numbers.’”

“The USWCC affiliation for our members helps NJAWBO actualize our strategic plan to provide alliance opportunities that support our members’ leadership development in the business community and government,” says Sue Fitzpatrick, NJAWBO president.

“We keep a close eye on organizations and individuals with like-minded objectives, and team up whenever we can to get results,” Dorfman adds. “NJAWBO has provided opportunities for women business owners across the state for the past 26 years. We’re confident our partnership will help open even more doors for women in business, education and the public arena.”

The U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce™ is the vehicle for change in making a visible, measurable difference in improving economic and leadership opportunities for women. In addition to its newly created Association Memberships, the USWCC earlier this year created the National Women’s Lobby™ to pave the way for effective advocacy on a number of issues impacting members’ businesses, careers and retirements. Last month, the USWCC formalized the National Procurement Council™ to improve business and procurement opportunities for women, and to raise the level of influence of women business owners in the marketplace. Currently, more than 20 regional USWCC Economic Development Councils are forming across the country.

“As the next generation of leadership for women, the USWCC is the connection to influence, education, opportunity and advancement,” Dorfman says. “We welcome all NJAWBO members to take full advantage of their USWCC member benefits, and to lend their leadership and expertise to our common mission.”
