Purpose: It is time for all of us to work together to breakthrough the procurement barriers, and create a truly competitive environment where buyers encourage new vendors and where small business owners compete aggressively for new opportunities. You will gain a closer connection with federal agencies and 2nd tier contractors, learn the ins and outs of research and buyer relationship development, making a strong business case, and developing a strong brand within the federal marketplace. We will also provide an update on current federal programs and trends so that you may maximize their participation in the federal procurement arena.
Dates and Times: April 7th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and reception from 5 - 7:00 p.m. (There will also be a pre-conference check-in and networking from 9-10 a.m. and an additional pre-conference educational session available from 10 - 11:30 a.m. for early arrivals). Agencies and Contractors: Agencies taking part will provide detailed information about how to get down to the ground floor of opportunities within their agencies, updates on upcoming business, and additional important details to assist small businesses to become successful vendors within their agency. Other NSBFPS Details:
- Advertising: All participating small businesses may submit a two page information sheet on their business which will be included in the program (deadline for inclusion is March 31, 2004). One page will be a standard format used by all participants, and one page will be open to the participant to create (either as a PDF, JPG, TIF, or Word Document).
- One-on-Ones: Participating agencies may use these submissions to select appropriate companies for one-on-one discussions. These sessions are not guaranteed. However, NPS will work with agencies to match companies to agency needs and arrange one-on-ones as possible. (NPS will also assist small businesses arriving the day before or staying the day after to make appointments with federal agencies in Washington - please contact us early.)
- Communication with Attendees: All participants will be connected immediately upon registration to the event message board where they may begin to make contact with other attendees.
- Agencies and Contractors: A number of Federal Agencies and 2nd Tier Contractors will provide 50 minute information segments on their agencies providing key information on their agency, researching opportunities, making ground floor contacts and upcoming opportunities within their agency or corporation.

- Building a Business Presence with the Federal Government - Reliability, Capability, Respectability
- Federal Update on Small Business Programs - including minority programs, women-owned programs, veterans, small business set-asides, mentor protege
- The Trends Towards Small Business Consortiums and Teams and How to Position Your Business for Selection
